A playlist inspired by or inspired, one of my friends' personal memory of snorkeling in Vietnam, 2020. We communicated with images, tracks, and memories while working on this project.
Here are some of the messages: “I just checked my phone. I like this cover. It ’s very touching and it has a strong connection with my personal memory early this year” “I went snorkeling in Vietnam.” “I love it when I looked up at the sky from the water.” “My first snorkeling was in shallow water. I scratched my hand and it was bleeding. Then the second snorkeling was a few meters away from the bottom of the water. The place with corals on the bottom was black. I had a bad trip.” “So the first time I had a bad trip, it was scary but fascinating.”

"Growing in the suburban 90s Athens, our conscience as children, was morphed with a sense of grandiose. We were made to believe that our political and socio-economic environment not only wouldn’t treat us with hostility but instead it would nurture us and let us blossom to paths and choices among options.
By mid 2000s a new landscape slowly emerged. Past glories were starting to fade and became submerged to gloom and as 15-year olds we were systematically taught that our lives didn’t matter that much. 11 years later we are still characterised as a “wasted” generation.
This is a mix for what it means to live in Athens today, surrounded by violent architecture, oppressive structures, incoherent narratives, economical but more importantly moral pauperisation, collective depression and massive escapism. "
